Using the Scratch Notes Feature
Underneath the calculator there's a ruled notepad for working out a problem as you go - jotting down the steps of an equation, a formula you keep forgetting, or an answer you need in a minute. It saves automatically in your browser, so it's still there when you come back, and nothing you write is uploaded anywhere.

What It Actually Does
I wanted a calculator that didn't require an app download or a login. Just open it and go. ZovoCalc handles the things you actually need - basic arithmetic, trig, logs, square roots, powers, percentages, and parentheses for controlling order of operations. The constants π and e are one click away. It works the same on a phone, a Chromebook, or a desktop.

The Seven Themes
There are seven calculator skins: Classic dark, iOS style, Android minimal, light minimal, pastel candy, teal flat, and scientific device. I added them because different people genuinely have preferences and staring at a calculator for an hour during homework matters. The pastel one is personally my favourite. How to Use ZovoCalc Calculator Buttons
Click numbers and operators to build your expression. Hit = to get the answer. AC clears everything. ⌫ deletes the last character. For trig and log functions, type the number first then click the function - so type 45 then hit sin to get sin(45°) = 0.7071. That's all there is to it.

How to calculate a percentage of a number
Problem: What is 15% of 240?
Convert the percentage to a decimal by dividing by 100, then multiply: 15 ÷ 100 = 0.15, then 0.15 × 240 = 36. So 15% of 240 is 36.
How to calculate a discount
Problem: A $60 jacket is 20% off. What do you pay?
Discount: 60 × 0.20 = 12. Final price: 60 − 12 = $48. A faster route is to multiply by what you still pay: 100% − 20% = 80%, so 60 × 0.80 = $48 directly.
How to add fractions with different denominators
Problem: 3/8 + 5/12
Find the lowest common denominator. 8 and 12 both divide into 24, so convert both fractions: 3/8 = 9/24 and 5/12 = 10/24. 9/24 + 10/24 = 19/24.
How to solve a linear equation
Problem: Solve 3x + 5 = 20
Isolate x by undoing each operation on both sides: 3x = 20 − 5 = 15. Then x = 15 ÷ 3 = 5. Check it by substituting back: 3(5) + 5 = 20.
